What is Housing Hub?
It’s the resource where clients and contractors of FACS can find policies relating to tenancy management for social housing, such as how to handle property damage or find housing applications forms.
Housing Hub was run with a limited budget under tight timelines.
It was the perfect candidate to apply the modules and design language developed for the Intranet and Casework Practice. Only a handful of new patterns were created to answer specific needs discovered in user research.
About mid-way through the project I began work on the new public website, and handed over the designs to another FACS designer.

Design notes
Green has traditionally been associated with housing at FACS. An accessible variation of this green was based on a much-used iPad app, and used as the main colour throughout the site.
The site has a flatter structure, allowing an intuitive approach to using design patterns. Landing pages use card patterns, whereas content pages use lists, text links and content blocks.
Imagery was introduced at home and landing-level pages, and removed from content pages. This helps the site feel friendlier when a user is exploring, and helps them concentrate when they need to.

Housing Hub used styles based on the Intranet and Casework Practice.
